Geri's Funeral and My 23rd Birthday

It has been a busy weekend. On Friday I turned 23 years old. I am getting old... Kira and Jason came from Rexburg for the weekend and we went to a memorial bbq for my cousin Geri who died of cancer. I got to meet a lot of my relatives that I didnt know and got to see thes ones I did. I have been working on this side of the families family history so Dennis showed me pictures of the family I have been researching. On Saturday morning we attended the funeral and burial in Winnemucca, Nevada. I got to meet more of my relatives here and walk through the cemetary looking for other family who have passed. It was a very nice service. She will be missed. Saturday night we celebrated my birthday at my Aunt Lori's. She cooked me some very good southern food and I opened presents. Thank you for everything! Today I taught my very last primary 11-12 year old boys class. Im going to miss those little hellians. :) Here is some pictures from over the weekend.

Carling Family Reunion Summer 2009

What a weekend! This weekend Grandma and Grandpa Brinkerhoff, Aunt Lori and I took a road trip to Fillmore, Utah for the annuel Carling Family Reunion. The name Carling is from my Grandpa Brinkerhoff's mother who was Portia Carling. There was over 100 people at the reunion and I had the opportunity to spend lots of time with the family I knew and got to know all the family that I didnt know. We had great food, great prizes, auctions, and some really great Stories. Us Carling's are pretty famous just ask me, I am full of stories. :) I love my family and wish some of my immediate family could have made it but thats okay! Aunt Lori took alot of pictures but ill only post a few. At the end is a picture of a shoe tree. Apparently they are all over Nevada. Who would of thunk? a shoe tree! :) It was pretty cool! It was a GREAT trip!

-Rye Patch visit & Virginia City, Nevada-

It has been a good weekend! Friday I drove out to the Lake with Torrie so that I could say hello to my former co-workers. I worked out at the lake last summer and was excited to see everyone again. It was freezing cold outside on Friday and it even snowed up at Lake Tahoe that day. Anyways, once we got out there none of my former co-workers were working that day. Only the newbies. Sad day! So we decided to hike on the hiking trail that is there and then we came home.
On Saturday Mom, Dad,Torrie and I took a road trip to Virginia City! We saw alot of cool historical things and got to ride on a trolly!:) We ate at this nasty restaurant for lunch but made up for it later with some way good ice cream. Its a really neat town! Then that night we went out to the raceway and watched Bob race. Enjoy the pictures :)
