!-Trips to Irving, TX and closing of Interstate 635-!

This week I got to work in Irving, Texas screening for Nokia. Its about 28 miles from home, so about a thirty to forty five minute drive depending on traffic. Work went well all week and I was able to work with two of the new people who just started. It still feels like I just started, but glad there is some newer ones than me. :) Yesterday (friday) I left Irving at 3:00 expecting to get home at 3:30-3:40. I got on the 635 and was driving normal until traffic just stopped. I sat in traffic for over an hour just barely inching along. I was confused because it was only three, 5:00 traffic didnt ever run that slow. I knew something was up because firetrucks, ambulances and police cars kept zooming by and sounding their sirens. I got to this sign that said IH635 closed ahead. Closed? I didnt even know it was possible to close an interstate. All of a sudden 5 lanes of traffic are trying to exit all at once in a one road exit lane. Pink cadillac lady was inches from hitting me on more than one occasion.
It was crazy! So as you all know. I dont know my way around Dallas at all. I know just specific roads that get me to specific places. So having to exit 12 miles early, I had no idea where I was and my GPS just kept telling me to get back on the closed interstate. Trixie called though because it came up on TV that it was closed. She had to give me step by step instuctions to get back home. I kept missing the turns she told me to turn at from being in the wrong lanes, had to pay at tolls and traffic just kept getting worse as it got closer to five. Finally, after two hours I made it home. I didnt think I was one to have road rage but I was definetly on edge. A truck was leaking HCL Acid, which can easily start a vehicle on fire so that is why they closed it. Last night I went and saw Dear John with Trixie and Maegen. Not as good as the book, but was still good. I bought a new camera but didnt take any pictures this week so, internet pictures from DFW Fox News posted. :)

!-Texas and Oklahoma trips-!

These last two weeks have flown by! I have been employed full-time for one month now. Still feels like I just started. These last two weeks I was in Abilene TX and Perry/Stillwater Oklahoma. In Abilene we were on ACU's campus. I worked with Michelle, Caryn and Lindsey. They are all great girls. We worked-out at Hendrick Health Club in town. They let us work-out for the whole week for only five dollars, which we were all really greatful for.The fitness center in our hotel was the size of a closet. We took spin and body pump classes that were pretty good and made me sore! The rental car we had was a mini van. I bet people thought it was funny to see four twenty-three year old girls cruising in the mini van.I remember sitting outside of the hotel soaking up the sun reading a book. I thought that life couldnt get better than that.:) During the weekend I went to a YSA game night. It was good to get out of the house... This last week we were screening in Perry OK for a company called Ditch Witch. I was with the same girls minus Lindsey. It was a busy week and freezing cold outside. Quite the opposite of Abilene. We ate at a famous place on OSU's campus called Eskimo Joes.
We got these really cool color changing cups and I bought an Eskimo Joe's t-shirt. The last day we screened at Ditch Witch, Caryn asked if we could get Ditch Witch T-shirts so we now all have t-shirts. We drove home in a freak snow storm. I thought I had moved far enough south that I wouldnt see that much snow again, but ...i was wrong. I hear they still dont have power there. This weekend I am just relaxing. Im going to buy my camera on Monday and finally will be able to post real pictures. I did my best with the the downloaded pics off of google. The suburban and snow pictures are off my phone camera. enjoy.

-!Arkansas, Texas and Mississippi Trips-!

Well I dont normally like to blog when I dont have pictures to let you SEE instead of READ what I have been up to. Ill download some from the internet but I havent taken much pictures since my camera broke at graduation. Life has been good to me. I am now living in Dallas, Texas and enjoying my job at Viverae. My first day they sent me to Little Rock, Arakansas with Jackie and Yvette. It was definetly a week of learning experiances, but I feel like I am catching on pretty good. Jackie and Yvette are great people and were fun to work with.

I began church at my new singles ward in Dallas a couple weeks ago. Its a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be, but the people seem great and Im looking forward to getting to know all of them. I have yet to see the temple here.

This week I visited Amarillo,Dumas, Lubbock, Levelland and Brownfield, TX for work. I met some really nice people and got to see parts of Texas that I have never been to before. Also I got to test the Ford Focus out as it was my rental car for the begining of the week. This is a picture of Amarillo Texas.

Also my favorite part of this past week was to go to Gulfport, Mississippi. Its right on the ocean and it was fun working down there! I worked with Stephanie and a few local contracters. It was great meeting Stephanie. Joe came over from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to see me. I havent seen him in a year! After working all night he drove to Gulfport to spend a couple hours with me. Thank you for doing that, hope you get some sleep today! Now I am back in Dallas for the weekend and looking forward to a concert tonight in Fort Worth!Below is a picture of Gulfport. It is gorgeous!
