This weekend Mel and I traveled to Shreveport Louisiana. It is the 3rd largest metro. city in the state. We had plans to check into the Hilton, take a nap and then go check out the night life. 
Well the nap went longer than expected so when we finally did get up, we went to Whataburger and than to the store to pick up junk food. Back at the Hilton we pigged out and watched "Nick and Nora an infinite playlist." It was a good night. :) 
The next morning we met up with my sister Trixie's family! I havent seen them since New Years so it was great seeing them again! We started out at "Gator and Friends." We saw Zebra's and kangeroos and camels and alligators and alot of other animals. We got to pet and feed most all of the animals! It was fun. Afterwards we ate at a Mexican restaurant and then went bowling. Im always up for a good game of bowling.

!-MARDI GRAS-!
I had such a great weekend!! I cannot explain to y'all :) how happy I am to be here in Louisiana. I feel so truly blessed! Well we started out the weekend driving to Baton Rouge to meet up with Scott and Jason when Mel's tire blows out.
Well Im in a dress and Mel doesnt know how to change a tire so we called enterprise road side assitance and they tell us someone will come and change it for us but it could be up to 75 mintues.
They ask where are location is and of course we dont have a clue. Mel gets out and walks to the nearest green sign to see where we are. As she is walking back a group of guys driving by see her and pull over. They tell us we dont want to wait for 75mintues and that they would change it for us. Such nice nice people here!
They change it and we thank them and get back on I-10. About 5 miles or so from Scott's the car dies in the middle of traffic. So we put our flashers on, turn off the car completey and start it up again. It works and we make it to Scotts.
We all pile into Scott's car and head to the Houmas plantation. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!! I could live there. I love, loved it and am planning on visiting more plantations while I am here. 
After we visit the plantation we drove into New Orleans for the Mardi Gras parade. There were so many people everywhere! It was the best parade I have ever seen. At the end of the parade I had over 5 pounds worth of beads. It was crazy! I dont know what I will do with them all.
Kid Rock was the grand marshall! It was great seeing him so up close! I had an ocasional perv that would not give me beads unless I showed him my boobies..but other than that it was great! After the parade it was impossible to drive anywhere so we walked to Yo Mama's in the rain. It is a bar and grill. 
They serve hamburgers with Peanut butter. Ya..Peanut butter. I didnt think that sounded very good but I tried Scott's and hey its acutally not too bad. 
After eating and the parade it was late and I was so tired and wet from the rain! We found the car and started our drive back into Baton Rouge. There were so many drunk drivers on the road it was scary...idiots! Well we were to tired to drive back to Lafayette that night so we slept at Scotts parents house in BR. In the morning we got up and started to drive back to Lafayette on the donut tire. 
Of course Mel's car dies and we pull into Chevron, call enterprise and called the boys. A tow truck came and picked up the car and the guys came and picked us up. They drove us to the airport enterprise so Mel could get a new car. -Pontiac G5..im SO jelous.- Well by then we new we would never make it to church on time so we went and got King Cake and brought it back to Scotts, ate it and played Rock Band:) Im so grateful for Jason and Scott for being so patient with us this weekend!

I LOVE FLORIDA!!!
Well while interning here in Baton Rouge I decided to take a break and road trip to Florida! :) Mel, Scott and I drove down on Friday night and came back Sunday afternoon. I fell in love with the ocean, the people, and the state in a matter of a weekend:) I had an amazing time! Our hotel was on the beach and we spent most of our time on the beach! The whole time I was so greatful to be there in the hot sun in February! I got really really sunburned...im in pain:) But it was all worth it! Most of these pictures were takin on the beach:
